This international project allows me to share my group video about PXL and my individual collage with student teachers from Denmark. They are so creative in creating their artwork and enthusiastic in presenting and explaining their artwork to us. One of the objectives of this project is to make me and other students aware that each person typically sees things differently and it should be treated as normal when people having unidentical cultural backgrounds or coming from various places in the world do not perceive things in the same way. Nonetheless, this difference is seen as problematic across cultures, borders, and continents.
As a future teacher in this richly diverse world, one needs to be equipped with an attribute to see the difference in each of their student and value their students' cultural differences. In addition, what student teachers need to do is to ask for an explanation, not by assuming only based solely on their own culture and understanding, when the difference occurs. Therefore, this project gives me a chance to stimulate this situation.
Firstly, I need to present my collage/artwork. They need to tell me what they see in my project and what they think my project means based on their perspective. Then I need to politely and calmly elaborate on the true meaning of my collage from my perspective.
